The service that you provide every day as an employee of the County of Orange is valued and appreciated. We are aware that many of you choose to go above and beyond your County work and contribute personally to charitable organizations. Many of you give generously to help our schools, churches, hospitals, and other worthwhile causes, all of which help to make our Orange County community stronger. The County has partnered with United Way since 1979 to provide an easy way for employees to donate money through a payroll deduction, and that option is being presented again this year. As the Chairwoman of the Board of Supervisors and as the County Executive Officer, we are honored to Co-Chair the 2017-18 County of Orange Employees United Way Campaign. The goal of the 2017-18 United Way campaign is for County employees to consider making a difference by donating through a bi-weekly payroll deduction. Donations may be designated to a specific charity of your choosing as long as it has 501(c)(3) status. For employees who already support United Way through payroll pledging – thank you, and we ask you to consider continuing and even increasing your contribution if you are able to do so. You may set up your United Way payroll pledge through United eWay, an electronic pledging tool, or by completing a paper pledge form. Your United Way pledge will roll over from year to year, and your contributions (whether you give to United Way’s Community Impact or designate a specific organization) will continue unless you specify otherwise. To request a paper pledge form and to find out more about United Way fundraisers, please contact your agency United Way Coordinator – click here for a list of coordinators. Some departments are choosing to have special event fundraisers in support of the United Way, and all donations are greatly appreciated. Please join us in making a pledge to do all we can in 2017-18 to build a better future for our community! 2017 County of Orange Employees United Way Campaign Co-Chairs,
